About the Role

The Glass Operator – Level 1 performs manufacturing and inspection activities to produce high-quality cover glass components for medical and precision applications. This role ensures consistent product quality, maintains efficient production flow, and upholds safety, teamwork, and operational excellence standards. Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor cover glass manufacturing equipment and workstation processes safely and efficiently.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE; report unsafe conditions immediately to leadership.
  • Perform visual inspections of materials and finished glass to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Identify and communicate potential quality issues, defects, or abnormalities to the Production Leader.
  • Follow standardized work instructions and quality procedures to maintain product consistency.
  • Support workflow between workstations by delivering, loading, and unloading materials as needed.
  • Use basic hand tools and production equipment to complete assigned assembly or material-handling tasks.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient workspace following 5S and continuous improvement principles.
  • Read and interpret production paperwork, labels, and computer files accurately.
  • Assist in achieving daily production goals related to output, waste reduction, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve minor process or equipment issues under supervision.
  • Demonstrate a professional attitude, reliability, and effective communication within the production team.
  • Maintain excellent attendance and flexibility to work overtime or weekend shifts as required.
  • Perform other duties and cross-train in additional areas as assigned by supervision.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or assembly environment preferred.
  • Prior experience in printing applications or operating basic machinery is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards.
  • Ability to learn machine operation and product handling techniques quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and consistency.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to handle delicate materials safely.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete documentation accurately.
  • Good communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills and processes.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Work performed in a manufacturing environment; exposure to moving machinery, production noise, and temperature variations.
  • Regularly required to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Frequent walking, bending, reaching, twisting, and lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Must follow all safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Pay

This position starts at $20-22/hour depending upon experience and is eligible for shift differentials if assigned an eligible shift. It also includes eligibility for an annual performance-based raise.

Schedule

Currently accepting applications for A shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday overtime.
