Gladstone Infectious Disease Institute/UCSF Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutics Sciences - Faculty Position
The Category Investigator/Lab/Area GIDI Central Science Position at the Gladstone Infectious Disease Institute (GIDI) seeks a faculty member at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Senior Investigator. The successful candidate will hold a joint faculty appointment as an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the In-Residence faculty series in the UCSF Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutics Sciences, and in the UCSF PSPG and/or BMS graduate training program.
About the role
Gladstone Investigators lead world-class research programs spanning neurological and cardiovascular diseases, cancer, immunology, virology, and bioinformatics. The institute is located on UCSF's Mission Bay Campus and collaborates closely with the university and the San Francisco Bay Area biotechnology hub. The GIDI focuses on HIV cure research and recent additions include SARS-CoV-2 (Long COVID), mRNA vaccines, and phage therapy.
Responsibilities
- Outstanding records of innovative research
- Commitment to disease-, treatment- or prevention-focused research in infectious and commensal microbes, host immune responses to pathogens, or pandemic preparedness
- Demonstrated interest in virology research and relevance to current and future pandemics
- Track record of independent grant support
Requirements
- Medical or doctoral degree
- Post-MD or postdoctoral training
Qualifications
- Current and/or pending qualifications (e.g., board eligibility/certification, medical licensure)
