GIS TECHNICIAN

Duties and/or Responsibilities

• Collect, examine and evaluate data – determine quality in relation to specifications with finished and in-process inspections.
• Conduct surveys of stockpiles for inventory using Trimble and drone technology.
• Measure stockpile volumes using GIS technology and create detailed inventory calculations.
• Safely and properly perform laboratory tests on variety of materials (Aggregate, concrete and/or Asphalt).
• Meet with field personnel and customers to investigate quality issues and troubleshoot resolutions.
• Obtain/maintain all required DOT and FAA certifications.
• Travel as needed to project and work site locations.
• Ensure DOT, MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
• Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Able to work independently.

Minimum Requirements

• General education, problem solving skills, grammar, and arithmetic consistent with a GED or high school diploma; or equivalent transferable skills.
• Ability to learn survey methods and procedures to obtain proper certifications.
• Ability to learn new software and programs.
• Ability to hold and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some Saturdays.
