GIS Technician

Bolton & Menk is seeking a GIS Technician to join our Burnsville team. This role offers opportunities to work with a talented team and contribute to the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

• Enter data accurately and manage data.
• Generate maps and project deliverables.
• Manipulate large, complex GIS data sets.
• Provide GIS software support to staff and clients.
• Aid in setting up and using GIS software and GPS equipment.
• Accurately collect field data.

Requirements

• Degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Experience with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
• Experience with Geoprocessing within the ArcGIS environment.
• Ability to work within a team atmosphere.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license. Regional travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of GIS as it relates to Local Government, Public Works, and Civil Engineering.
• Experience with developing automation within the ArcGIS environment using scripting languages such as Python.
• Experience communicating and promoting geospatial solutions amongst others.
• Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D CAD software.
• Knowledge of mapping-grade GPS devices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documents.

Pay

Salary Range: $51,300 - $72,360 depending on years of experience and credentials.
