GIS Specialist - Engineer - Sacramento CA

About the role

Performs mapping, graphics, and tabular data tasks. Assists in database design, automation, and processing macros related to analytical procedures. Maintains and updates geodatabases. Reviews output for data accuracy and adherence to end user's criteria. Assists with ArcGIS Online, maintains logs, records, and files. Provides GIS assistance to staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform mapping and create graphics and tabular data
• Assist in database design, automation, and processing macros for analytical procedures
• Maintain and update geodatabases
• Review output for data accuracy and adherence to end user's criteria
• Assist with ArcGIS Online
• Maintain logs, records, and files
• Provide GIS assistance to Reclamation staff

Requirements

• BA/BS in Geography, Natural Resources Management, Earth Sciences, Engineering, or Computer Sciences (comparable work experience is acceptable)
• 3 to 5 years of GIS production work using ESRI software
• Coursework in cartography and/or graphic design

Qualifications

Successful completion of any combination of 3 of the following ESRI training courses within the past two years may substitute for some experience and/or time requirements:

• ArcGIS Pro
• Introduction to Geoprocessing Scripts Using Python
• Basics of Python
• Managing Lidar Data Using Mosaic Datasets
• Map Design Fundamentals
• Creating Prediction Surfaces in ArcGIS
• Building Geoprocessing Models Using ArcGIS Pro
• Creating and Sharing GIS Content Using ArcGIS Online
• User Workflows for ArcGIS Online Organizations
