The Role
The Logistics Analyst position is based at Recology Sunset Scavenger's San Francisco office at 505 Tunnel Ave. Parking is free.
Essential Responsibilities
- Uses Route Optimization software extension for ArcGIS to build, maintain, improve, and modify commercial driver routes for efficiency and profitability.
- Evaluates requests from leadership for new or modified routes, determining scope, specifications, feasibility, timing, and cost considerations.
- Reports findings to management group.
- Works with user departments to develop project objectives and scope of work.
- Manages and coordinates routing projects.
- Reports on quality and timely completion of tasks for projects assigned.
- Collaborates with user departments to prioritize plans to acquire, exchange, share, and integrate digital data between Recology Operating Companies.
- Prioritizes the development of component layers and structure of spatial data between Recology and city ordinances.
- Updates and maintains Graphical Information System (GIS) base maps for accuracy (e.g., reflects one-way streets, dead-ends).
- Works with Corporate to determine enhancements to hardware, software, and procedures to maximize system use and integrity.
- Provides logistics Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for performance management of Recology’s fleet.
- Monitors and measures the benefits of implemented reroutes through ongoing communication with the management team.
- Updates and maintains routing base maps for accuracy (e.g., reflects one-way streets, dead-ends).
Qualifications
- Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.
- A typical way to qualify is: 3-5 years of related experience, including two years of specific experience in Route Optimization software or similar logistics platforms and routing programs and reading, understanding, developing, and analyzing geographic information in a variety of data forms and projections.
- Experience working with data from public and private sources.
- Strong analytical skills and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite of applications and computer cartographic design, layout, and production for various subjects.
- Experience using route Optimization software extension for ArcGIS.
- Technical knowledge of CRM database applications.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- A bachelor's degree is preferred.
- A valid driver's license is required.
