GIS ANALYST II

About the role

The GIS Analyst II plays a crucial role in coordinating GIS activities across various projects within the midstream sector. This position involves integrating spatial data and customizing user interfaces to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of GIS systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate GIS efforts for engineering FEED and detailed design projects, including location mapping, route mapping, alignment sheet generation, crossing list generation, and impact analysis calculations.
• Perform advanced GIS analysis and spatial database management to support the operational needs of the GIS system.
• Develop and implement GIS tools to assist end-users with daily mapping and analysis tasks.
• Manage and integrate existing data from various sources into the GIS database.
• Design, write, and maintain GIS workflow documentation.
• Search for and mine data from disparate external sources to support GIS operations.
• Create presentation-quality maps and perform complex geospatial analyses to support midstream business initiatives.
• Develop and present in-house training materials to mentor less experienced staff.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive experience in GIS, with the last 5 years as a GIS Analyst or similar role.
• Must have 5 years of experience using ArcGIS 10.0 or higher.
• In-depth knowledge of the pipeline industry.
• Advanced knowledge and experience with ESRI Desktop products and other GIS/CAD & graphics drawing applications.
• Knowledge of advanced cartographic principles.
• Alignment Sheet Generation experience required.
• FERC Experience is preferred.
• PODS and/or APDM experience preferred.
• Familiarity with GIS automation techniques using Python scripting, ArcObjects programming, model builder, and/or VBA/VBscript.
• Experience with ArcGIS server, SQL Server, and Oracle.
• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Customer-focused business and people acumen.

Qualifications

Pay

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The GIS Analyst II works a standard Monday through Friday schedule, typically 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
