About the role
Tacoma Power is seeking a GIS Analyst with expertise in mapping and relevant engineering, operations, or engineering technician skills to support the digital twin of the transmission and distribution infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Administer the electrical geodatabase, including creating and maintaining “versions” and performing daily QA/QC efforts.
- Manage data imports/exports for various purposes such as construction projects, inspections, and public disclosure requests.
- Create, modify, and publish APRX files for GIS Data Editors to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Develop and maintain scripts and work processes to ensure data quality for Tacoma Power’s systems of record (SAP and GIS).
- Manage templates and layer configurations to support T&D staff in creating specialty maps, base maps, and construction drawings.
- Manage attribute rules to automatically populate attributes, stop invalid edits, and perform quality assurance checks.
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, document workflows, and coordinate project planning activities for GIS-related upgrades and enhancements.
- Research, recommend, and collaborate on appropriate GIS technology solutions to meet T&D’s business requirements.
- Test GIS software upgrades and configuration to ensure they meet the needs of T&D office and field staff.
- Create, maintain, review, and manage test scripts to ensure data quality.
- Train staff on new processes, tools, and various apps.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, information technology, or a directly related field.
- Minimum Experience: 4 years of progressively responsible analytical and/or functional analyst, user support, or database maintenance work in a related field.
Skills
- Advanced proficiency in mapping and geospatial data management.
- Knowledge in engineering, operations, or engineering technician skills.
- Experience with SAP and GIS systems.
- Ability to develop and maintain scripts and work processes for data quality assurance.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Benefits
Annual Salary: $105,643.20 - $148,740.80
