About the role

The Girls’ and Women’s Football Lead Coach role is a volunteer paid position with potential for career advancement. It involves overseeing the day-to-day running of the current girls’ and women’s football programmes and launching new initiatives to grow participation, performance, and visibility.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with senior management to shape and deliver long-term strategies for growth and sustainability
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of all current girls’ and women’s sessions and programmes
  • Deliver engaging and inclusive football coaching sessions to girls and young women (weekday evenings & Saturday mornings)
  • Design and implement new projects or initiatives to increase engagement, retention, and progression pathways
  • Manage coaching staff and support team within the department
  • Liaise with schools, parents/carers, local partners, and community stakeholders to build strong relationships

Requirements

  • Minimum FA Level 2 / UEFA C Licence (UEFA B desirable)
  • Proven experience leading or coordinating football programmes, ideally in a female football setting
  • Experience coaching children and young people in structured environments
  • Strong knowledge of female football development pathways and barriers to participation
  • Valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) and safeguarding children and emergency first aid certification (or willingness to complete)
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills
  • A passion for driving gender equity in sport and inspiring the next generation of players

Schedule
