Girls Varsity Lacrosse Coach

Location: Marion, Massachusetts | Type: Part-time (with potential to become full-time based on candidate's experience and school needs)

About the Role

Tabor Academy seeks a proven, dedicated, and enthusiastic coach to lead its Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse program. The Head Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse Coach will oversee all girls' lacrosse programming, manage coaching staff, recruit lacrosse players nationwide, and facilitate collegiate recruitment. The ideal candidate is a collaborative educator committed to maintaining and enhancing the program’s high level of competitiveness in the Independent School League (ISL). The role emphasizes developing student-athletes and coaching staff while aligning with Tabor Academy’s mission and the ISL’s values.

Responsibilities

• Act as a confident, strong role model and leader for high school student-athletes, earning the respect and trust of athletes, parents, and colleagues.
• Bring coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, or club lacrosse levels, including practice planning, game preparation, and strategic use of film.
• Demonstrate excellent management, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Model inclusion, equity, and cultural competency in all aspects of school life.
• Collaborate with the Athletic Department and league members for scheduling, film exchanges, and programmatic needs.
• Represent Tabor Academy at ISL and NEPSAC Girls Lacrosse meetings.
• Serve as head coach for a team of approximately 20 student-athletes.
• Work with the Admissions Office to identify, attract, and recruit strong players through showcases and club lacrosse programs.
• Collaborate with the College Counseling office to assist student-athletes in the collegiate recruitment process, including maintaining professional contacts with collegiate coaches.
• Provide ongoing feedback to student-athletes and professional development for coaching staff.
• Evaluate athlete performance and deliver real-time, constructive feedback.
• Manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently while adhering to confidential policies.
• Work closely with strength and conditioning, athletic training, and nutritional teams to support athlete health, safety, and rehabilitation.
• Ensure all equipment needs are met, properly fitted, and safe; stay updated on rule changes, techniques, and technologies relevant to the sport.

Requirements

• Minimum: College degree required.
• 5 to 7 years of experience coaching Girls’ lacrosse at the high school, college, or club level.
• Preferred: Experience in a secondary or post-secondary institution; prior experience as a Head Coach.
• Preferred skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Teams and HUDL.
