About the role
The Assistant Girls Soccer Coach position is within the Athletics Department at Floyd Little Athletic Center, part of the New Haven Public Schools system.
Responsibilities
- Support the Head Girls Soccer Coach in planning and implementing the team's training sessions and games.
- Work closely with players to develop their skills and improve their performance.
- Ensure compliance with state and district regulations regarding coaching certifications and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to promote a positive and inclusive environment for all athletes.
Requirements
- Maintain current certification as per Connecticut State Statutes.
- Hold a State of CT Coaching Permit (Module 15).
- Be trained in concussion management, CPR, and first aid.
Qualifications
- Experience coaching girls soccer at the high school level.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
Skills
- Excellent leadership and motivational skills.
- Knowledge of youth sports development and player progression.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
