Girls Soccer Assistant Coach

About the role

The Assistant Girls Soccer Coach position is within the Athletics Department at Floyd Little Athletic Center, part of the New Haven Public Schools system.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Girls Soccer Coach in planning and implementing the team's training sessions and games.
• Work closely with players to develop their skills and improve their performance.
• Ensure compliance with state and district regulations regarding coaching certifications and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with other coaches and staff to promote a positive and inclusive environment for all athletes.

Requirements

• Maintain current certification as per Connecticut State Statutes.
• Hold a State of CT Coaching Permit (Module 15).
• Be trained in concussion management, CPR, and first aid.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching girls soccer at the high school level.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
• Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

Skills

• Excellent leadership and motivational skills.
• Knowledge of youth sports development and player progression.
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
