Girls' Basketball Assistant Coach

Position Overview

The Assistant Girls' Basketball Coach supports the success of the Girls' Basketball program at Breck School. This position works closely with the Girls' Basketball Head Coach to manage daily operations and prepare student-athletes for varsity-level success.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce the tone and culture of the team – model teamwork, trust, inclusivity, respect, and leadership; encourage sportsmanlike conduct at all times.
• Manage and supervise practices and athletic events.
• Work with student athletes to improve their abilities in Girls' Basketball.
• Partner with coaching staff to provide unity across all levels and teams.
• Work with the Strength and Conditioning Coach to provide a year-round support.
• Encourage and support multi-sport athletes within Breck.
• Participate in special activities, such as parent meetings, senior night, banquets, etc.
• Attend meetings and events to improve coaching performance, such as professional development meetings, clinics, etc.

Qualifications

• Prior playing or coaching experience in Girls' Basketball.
• Understanding of Girls' Basketball fundamentals and effective coaching techniques and skills, including rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of Girls' Basketball.
• Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with school administrators, governing organizations (MSHSL, etc.), opponents, staff, parents, and athletes.
• Exhibits professionalism, organizational, communication, delegation, and interpersonal skills.
