Job Summary
The Girls Assistant Volleyball Coach at Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School supports the head coach in developing and maintaining a competitive volleyball program while fostering student-athlete growth, teamwork, and sportsmanship in alignment with the school’s mission and values.
Job Responsibilities
- Aid the head coach in planning and conducting practices, drills, and game strategies
- Support coaching during games, including player rotations, skill development, and in-game adjustments
- Help monitor and develop student-athletes’ skills, discipline, and teamwork
- Promote sportsmanship, accountability, and respect among players
- Absorb and organize equipment, uniforms, and practice setup/cleanup
- Supervise athletes during practices, games, and team activities
- Ensure compliance with school, conference, and athletic association rules and policies
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff as needed
- Support off-season training, conditioning, and team development activities
Job Requirements
- A high school diploma is required; coaching experience is preferred
- Knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, rules, and strategies is essential
- Collaborative working ability with the head coach, athletic staff, and administration is required
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills are necessary
- Motivation and mentoring of student-athletes are key
- Availability for practices, games, and team events (including evenings and weekends) is expected
- A background check and required school/diocesan training must be passed before employment
