About the role

One Planet One People is seeking enthusiastic volunteers and interns to help develop, contact, and interview famous former Girl Scouts for our upcoming 16 Things Book featuring Girl Scout Influencers—a transformative publication designed for collaborative sustainability education, workshops, and global impact.

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify famous former Girl Scouts (celebrities, business leaders, politicians, activists, athletes, scientists, and influencers)
  • Contact and engage with Girl Scout influencers and their representatives
  • Build relationships with Girl Scout councils, alumnae networks, and youth leadership organizations
  • Coordinate interview schedules and manage communications
  • Help develop interview questions focused on leadership, sustainability, and civic engagement
  • Assist in conducting interviews (via phone, video, or email) with featured Girl Scout influencers
  • Capture compelling stories about how Girl Scouts shaped their leadership journey
  • Collaborate with our editorial team to integrate stories into the 16 Things Book
  • Identify potential sponsors and partners aligned with Girl Scout values and sustainability goals
  • Develop sponsorship proposals and partnership packages
  • Support outreach to corporations, foundations, and institutions for book funding and distribution
  • Aid in creating business development materials and presentations
  • Help publicize the 16 Things Girl Scout Book through press releases, social media campaigns, and media outreach
  • Create engaging content highlighting featured Girl Scout influencers
  • Coordinate with PR team on media placements and interview opportunities
  • Learn to use AI software programs to accomplish organizational objectives
  • Manage databases of contacts, interviews, and partnership opportunities
  • Track project milestones and coordinate across international teams

Requirements

All ages, nationalities, and backgrounds welcome. We're looking for passionate individuals who:

  • Have a connection to Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, or Scouting programs (helpful but not required)
  • Are interested in youth leadership, women's empowerment, and sustainability
  • Have strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills
  • Are comfortable reaching out to influencers, celebrities, and business leaders
  • Have experience or interest in business development, sponsorship, PR, or marketing
  • Are self-motivated, organized, and committed to making a difference

Qualifications

Bonus skills (not required):

  • Experience with outreach, fundraising, or partnership development
  • Social media savvy and content creation abilities
  • Graphic design, writing, or multimedia storytelling
  • AI tools and project management platforms

Skills

Hands-on experience in business development, sponsorship, PR, marketing, and outreach
