Gilead is seeking a reliable and experienced Cook to join the Adult Residential Substance Use Treatment Program in the New Britain area. The Cook prepares and serves nutritious meals for residents, ensures adequate inventory of food and kitchen supplies, assists with meal planning and food production, and maintains the kitchen and food preparation areas in accordance with sanitation and safety standards. This position is 32 hours per week with some flexibility. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and committed to creating a positive dining experience for residents while supporting a clean and efficient kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare meals according to recipe instructions
- Set the steam table and ensure proper serving of food
- Ensure availability of supplies for planned menu
- Maintain the workspace in compliance with established sanitation standards
- Maintain daily production records
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- 3 years cooking experience
- ServSafe certificate preferred
- Must maintain and provide proof of valid driver’s license and automobile insurance in good standing
Pay
The pay range for this role is $16.98 - $20.75 per hour based on years of related experience and demonstrated qualifications.
