Gifted Teacher

About the role

The successful candidate will have an active and valid PA Elementary Certification, prior experience as an elementary school teacher, and a gifted endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Implement approved curriculum and design instruction meeting diverse learner needs.
• Provide strength-based opportunities for gifted students through differentiation, enrichment, and extension.
• Use multiple data points to inform instruction and support the ongoing development of gifted learners.
• Provide specially designed instruction and develop and implement GIEPs aligned to present levels and evaluation data.
• Ongoing progress monitoring, collaboration with team members, and maintain compliance with Chapter 16 requirements.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of the physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development of elementary-aged learners, including the needs of gifted students.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to partner with students, families, and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable in the specific area of certification required.
• Trained in: Differentiated Instruction, Assessment - Rubrics, Collaborative Learning, Learning Styles, Integrated Curriculum, Process Writing, Inclusion, Computer Background in Windows, Data interpretation for classroom/school improvement planning.
