About the role

The Gifted Resource Room Teacher assists in the development of mental, social, emotional, and physical growth of each pupil assigned to the teacher's class.

Responsibilities

• Present during assigned hours with pupils
• Prepare thoroughly for classes
• Complete administrative work related to the teaching assignment
• Attend staff conferences, individual conferences, and pupil conferences
• Supervise pupils before and after school
• Teach with understanding and respect for individuality
• Evaluate instruction to meet high standards
• Maintain discipline and enforce school regulations
• Make referrals to specialists as needed
• Perform supplemental assignments professionally
• Conduct tasks like planning, grading, and making phone calls
• Engage in professional growth
• Account for and manage funds appropriately
• Report suspected child abuse or neglect
• Follow assigned duties and policies
• Communicate with parents and community members

Requirements

• Valid Kansas Teaching License with a gifted endorsement

• Proficient in oral and written communication

• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Outlook
