Gideon Pond Student Council Leader Stipend Position

About the Role

We are looking for our next Student Council Advisor to support, empower, and facilitate experiences for Gideon Pond students in organizing school-wide activities. This role will help students develop leadership skills through planning and participating in events, promoting school spirit, and fostering a positive school culture.

Responsibilities

• Apply the tools of CPPS when developing schoolwide activities
• Co-create student activities aligned with the purpose alongside other Elementary Student Activity leaders in the district
• Ensure meetings and gatherings are inclusive of students' ability to participate in the activity
• Organize a group of students that reflects the student body population
• Ensure student participation in activities correlates with the demographics of the school building
• Engage in activities both in and outside of the school day
• Share and celebrate student activities throughout the year
• Submit activity plans for the school year to be approved by the site principal
• Communicate activity progress and success, as well as areas of needed support, throughout the year
• Demonstrate knowledge of State, Federal, and ISD 191 School Board Policies regarding student conduct and appropriate disciplinary action

Qualifications

• Evidence of and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills when working with coworkers, parents, community members, supervisors, and students
• Ability to receive feedback and adjust accordingly
• Strong work ethic and dedication to further the benefits of student participation in co-curricular activities
• Ability to perform essential job functions
