About the Role
The GI Specialty Sales Representative (Pharma) will be responsible for the sales performance of the full portfolio within an assigned geographic territory through successful execution of marketing strategies. This role focuses on growing business relationships with key decision makers and influencers, detailing to specific targets with a carefully defined messaging strategy, and leveraging business and value solutions based on evidence and outcome data. The role also involves working with IDN hospital personnel on transition of care and discharge protocols.
Territory Location: Westchester and Putnam Counties, including White Plains, New Rochelle, and Yonkers, NY.
Responsibilities
- Drive growth among GI/Critical Care target specialists and new accounts.
- Meet or exceed sales and profit objectives in assigned accounts.
- Educate targeted healthcare providers on the benefits of novel GI therapies within the assigned territory.
- Understand the GI healthcare environment and execute the selling process in a concise, compliant, professional, and persuasive manner.
- Develop and communicate a deep scientific understanding of GI disorders, assigned products, and competitive products within the GI marketplace.
- Cultivate and maintain long-term business relationships with key accounts and key opinion leaders within the GI community.
- Develop and implement a territory-specific business plan utilizing all available resources to foster a successful sales environment.
- Convey complex clinical and reimbursement product information to key stakeholders in a highly competitive marketplace.
- Execute a customer-centric, needs-based selling approach with targeted healthcare providers.
- Utilize sales reporting systems regularly for call preparation, recording and tracking sales activity, and gathering market intelligence data.
- Organize meetings and deliver content to healthcare professionals on GI and nutrition aligned with tangible account objectives and metrics.
- Conduct promotional programs for both professional and patient audiences.
- Attend local, regional, and national meetings as directed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Psychology, or a related field required. OR High School Diploma/GED and 5+ years combined experience in Pharma or Medical sales with demonstrated success and clinical experience (equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered).
- 3+ years of Medical/Clinical selling experience with demonstrated success in specialty medical products.
- Demonstrated fluency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Consistently meets and exceeds sales targets.
- Ability to develop solid and long-standing business relationships with strategic/targeted customers.
- Solid financial acumen and analytical skills.
- 50% or more travel required to develop internal and external relationships (depending on geographical location).
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Pay
The approximate pay range for this position is $120,000 to $135,000. Final compensation may vary based on factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.
