About the Role

Gateway Endoscopy Center is seeking a Full Time RN to join our Outpatient GI Center. As a nurse at Gateway, you will work alongside highly-trained physicians specializing in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal conditions such as acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and liver disease. You will play a crucial role in delivering top-notch care by providing consultations and services in a clear and understandable manner, ensuring personalized and high-quality treatment for our patients. Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess the physical and psychological status of patients during pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure phases.
  • Assess and respond to the individual, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients and their significant others, acting as a patient advocate in care coordination.
  • Identify and communicate patient care goals to all involved in the patient’s treatment.
  • Implement the nursing care plan using professional judgment to address patient needs.
  • Utilize supplies, equipment, and resources cost-effectively without compromising care quality.
  • Promote infection control and environmental safety to reduce nosocomial infection risks.
  • Report and document information accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate a positive and caring attitude toward patients, peers, and staff.
  • Seek guidance and assistance as needed, adhering to the Center’s policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality, privacy, and security of all patient and Center communications and documents.
  • Familiarize yourself with all equipment and supplies, including emergency resources.
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and the Quality Improvement (QI) program.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in patient care, assignments, schedules, and Center needs.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for employees, patients, and visitors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Professional School of Nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current BCLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to meet the demands of the nursing schedule, including overtime and time changes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, employees, patients, and others.

Working Conditions

  • Requires moderate mobility, including walking and standing, while supervising or performing duties.
  • Involves periodic pushing, pulling, and lifting of patients and/or equipment.
