GI Medical Oncology APP I/II
Provides evaluation, treatment, and management of acute and chronic phases of illness in patients at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Responsibilities include assessment of physical symptoms, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, and prescribing medications. Provides continued care throughout the patient's medical journey. Educates and mentors Advanced Practice Provider I and additional clinical staff, including nursing, residents, fellows, and other healthcare interns and students.
Pay
Advanced Practice Provider I: Starting annual salary of $112,528 with an additional geographic differential of $8,510.
Advanced Practice Provider II: Starting annual salary of $124,614 with an additional geographic differential of $8,510.
A full comprehensive benefits package is also included.
Schedule
Full time, 40 hours per week, first shift.
Qualifications
Advanced Practice Provider I:
- Nurse Practitioner Path:
- License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
- Current New York State Nurse Practitioner certification.
- Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other national certifying body recognized by HCFA.
- Master’s or higher-level degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Must obtain certification as a Nurse Practitioner within nine (9) months of appointment.
- Physician Assistant Path:
- License to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of New York.
- Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission for Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA) or other recognized national certifying body.
- Bachelor’s or higher-level degree in Physician Assistant Studies, or Bachelor’s degree and completion of a Physician Assistant Certificate Program recognized by the New York State Education Department.
- Must obtain and maintain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of appointment.
Advanced Practice Provider II:
- Nurse Practitioner Path:
- License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
- Current New York State Nurse Practitioner certification.
- Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other national certifying body recognized by HCFA.
- Master’s or higher-level degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Must obtain certification as a Nurse Practitioner within nine (9) months of appointment.

Additional Requirement for Both Levels:
- The equivalent of two (2) years of full-time progressively responsible Advanced Practice Provider experience in a service line at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center or at a cancer care or acute care facility recognized as comparable by Roswell Park.
