Essential Functions
- Performs High Level Disinfection of endoscopy equipment.
- Processes patient intake.
- Prepares and disassembles rooms for procedures.
- Transports patient.
- Charts in medical record of physician observations and patient interactions.
- Collections patient biopsies and specimens.
- Assists physician and RN with invasive procedures and other duties to contribute to the flow of the unit.
- Assists physician in complicated procedures that utilize fluoroscopy.
Education
High School Diploma or GED required.
Work Experience 1-3 years of experience as a medical professional assisting patients and medical teams required.
Licenses
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association required.
- One Of The Following Preferred:
CMA-Certified Medical Assistant - AAMA - American Association of Medical Assistants,
LPN-Licensed Practical Nurse - LPC State Licensing Board,
CNA-Certified Nurse Aide - ANCC - American Nurses Credentialing Center,
EMTB-EMT Basic - CO - State of Colorado.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of Gastrointestinal procedures.
- Good hand-eye coordination, priority decision making skills and organizational skills.
- Works well as a team player and has excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to perform procedures wearing a lead apron.
- Epic and Provation charting experience, preferred.
- Certifications that are applicable to Gastroenterology related to High Level Disinfection and/or Sterile processing, preferred.
