GI Lab Tech

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nursing staff during gastrointestinal and endoscopic procedures.
• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies before each case.
• Clean, disinfect, and reprocess endoscopes and other procedural equipment according to established guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Transport and position patients safely and comfortably for procedures.
• Notify leadership of shortages and maintain adequate inventory of supplies.
• Aid in specimen collection, labeling, and transport.
• Support patient care activities under the direction of licensed clinical staff.
• Maintain procedural areas clean, organized, and properly stocked.
• Document equipment processing and quality controls accurately.
• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory requirements at all times.
• Respond effectively to the needs of patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year customer service experience required, preferably in a hospital or outpatient setting.
• Experience or training in GI Lab procedure room setting is preferred.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
