Get paid to create energy.

DRS Events · Oregon, United States · 1 mo ago

About the role

We're looking for outgoing, reliable people who love interacting with others and helping create unforgettable experiences. No technical experience required—bring the personality, and we'll teach the rest.

Most of our best Event Specialists came from hospitality, not technical backgrounds. At DRS Events, you'll be the face of the experience: welcoming guests, running interactive attractions, creating excitement, and helping people have an incredible time. Whether it's a corporate event, trade show, festival, fundraiser, or private celebration, our Event Specialists help turn great events into unforgettable experiences.

Who we're looking for

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Enjoy talking to new people
  • Naturally bring energy to a room
  • Stay positive under pressure
  • Love working in team environments
  • Enjoy live events and experiences
  • Can confidently engage a crowd
  • Are dependable and professional

Bonus points if you have experience in:

  • Hospitality
  • Customer service
  • Events
  • Brand ambassador work
  • Promotions
  • Retail
  • Entertainment
  • Public speaking
  • Teaching or coaching

But don’t worry if you don’t—we're much more interested in attitude than experience.

Responsibilities

As an Event Specialist, you'll help create memorable guest experiences by:

  • Welcoming and engaging event attendees
  • Operating interactive attractions and experiences
  • Explaining activities and rules
  • Encouraging participation
  • Creating excitement and positive energy
  • Assisting with event setup and teardown
  • Representing DRS Events professionally

Every event is different, which means every shift is different too.

Benefits

  • Flexible scheduling—perfect for students, hospitality pros, freelancers, and anyone looking for a rewarding side hustle
  • Fun work environment—no cubicles, no desk, no staring at spreadsheets all day
  • Unique events—corporate events, trade shows, festivals, galas, fundraisers, private parties, and more
  • Growth opportunities—as we grow, so do the roles: leadership, event management, logistics, and operations

Pay

Event Specialist is a paid independent contractor (1099) role. Pay is per event and typically around $20 per hour; the exact amount depends on the event, role, and hours. Some events also include tips, bonuses, or commission opportunities. You invoice for the hours you work and are paid promptly after each event.

This position does not include traditional employee benefits such as health insurance or PTO.

About us

We're a team of people who genuinely enjoy creating experiences. We work hard, solve problems quickly, support each other, and bring positive energy to every event. The equipment matters, but the experience matters more. That’s why we hire personalities first and train skills second.

Reliable, high-performing Event Specialists can advance to Lead Specialist, Event Manager, and Operations roles as we grow—based on attendance, performance, and leadership.
