German Adjunct Instructor

About the Role

Teach courses in German based on instructor's qualifications. Positions are part-time and adjunct. Teaching assignments vary each semester based on enrollment, and there may be semesters with no available assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers.
  • Prepare and deliver instructional materials (e.g., syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts) in person and/or online.
  • Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
  • Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
  • Participate in required reporting processes (e.g., grades, participation).
  • Assist students in connecting to college resources.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in German, or
  • Master’s degree or higher in another field with 18 graduate credits in German, or
  • Master’s degree or higher in another field with ACTFL certification in German.

Supplemental Information

Adjunct instructors are employed by EDUStaff, LLC, unless receiving a pension from the Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System. Selected candidates must complete EDUStaff’s employment application and onboarding processes. Final candidates will undergo a criminal background check. Jackson College does not support visa applications; applicants must already be eligible to work in the United States.
