German Adjunct

About the role

German Adjunct faculty positions are available at Olympic College to teach German Language courses. Positions are open continuously and reviewed on a quarter-by-quarter basis. Applicants who are considered active for 12 months from the application date may be contacted when vacancies occur.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach college-level German Language course(s) by college catalog, schedule of classes, course outlines, and course syllabi.
• Provide quality teaching including related preparation and grading.
• Provide class syllabi to students enrolled in classes and to the division office.
• Maintain accurate records of students and complete forms as required.
• Punctually communicate with students, faculty, and staff.
• May include evening instruction.
• Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in German Language or directly related area from an accredited college or university, near-native fluency with experience, teaching experience.
• Desired Qualifications: College teaching experience, demonstrated ability to teach students with little or no background, and experienced students seeking to further their career.

• Terms of Employment: Please note that we are unable to sponsor visas for this position. Only candidates who are currently authorized to work in the United States will be considered.

Conditions of Employment

• Background check and completion of the Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Form as required by HB 2327.
• The employee must reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance of the campus to respond to workplace reporting requirements at the time of hiring.
• Frequent travel to Olympic College campuses or other sites may occur.
