About the role
The Geriatrician serves as a specialized physician within Northern Nevada HOPES, providing evidence-based, compassionate care to older adults while contributing to the development of an integrated outpatient geriatrics program. This foundational role will help define and implement innovative, interdisciplinary care models that support aging in place, reduce healthcare disparities, and create exceptional quality-of-life outcomes for vulnerable senior populations.
Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based, compassionate care to older adults
- Contribute to the development of an integrated outpatient geriatrics program
- Create clinical protocols
- Mentor interdisciplinary teams
- Collaborate with community partners
- Establish Northern Nevada's premier age-friendly health system for under-resourced seniors
Requirements
- MD/DO degree
- Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Experience in geriatric care
- Strong clinical skills and ability to provide trauma-informed care
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team setting
