Geriatric Nursing Assistant

About the role

The Geriatric Nursing Assistant is a full-time, on-site role.

Responsibilities

• Assists with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility.
• Makes observations about patients' physical or emotional condition and reports these changes to nursing staff.
• Supports nursing staff with basic clinical tasks.
• Accurately documents care in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
• Maintains a safe, clean environment.
• Promotes comfort and dignity among patients.
• Communicates respectfully and effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Strong geriatric nursing and caregiving skills, with experience supporting older adults and individuals with complex health needs.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credentials and foundational nursing knowledge appropriate to a Geriatric Nursing Assistant role.
• Accurate nursing documentation abilities, including recording vital signs, care activities, and patient observations in a clear, timely manner.
• Effective communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• The ability to follow care plans, adhere to safety and infection control protocols, and manage time and responsibilities reliably during full-time shifts.
• A high school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience in long-term care, assisted living, or similar settings is preferred.
