Geriatric Clinician Investigator
Job Duties
The Division of Geriatrics & Gerontology, Department of Medicine, UW School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking applicants for a full-time assistant professor, associate professor or professor on the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) track. It is expected that the physician-scientist incumbent will successfully obtain ongoing extramural support to conduct investigation in the area of aging and geriatrics research with a preference in physical performance, bone and/or muscle physiology and mobility.

This position is full or part time, 50%-100%

Key Job Responsibilities
- Conduct research, both independently and in collaboration with other SMPH and UW faculty, within a specialized field of interest including health disparities research, health services research, or a related field.
- The successful candidate will teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
- The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.
- An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.
- Provide primary care and/or sub-specialty patient care with a focus on bone disease for our older adult population, with latitude to launch a new clinic that would deliver patient care within rural or urban Dane County UW Health Clinics.
- Provide clinical patient care and clinical teaching of residents, medical students and fellows.
- Mentor graduate students and postdoctoral fellows and teach graduate-level courses in relevant fields as appropriate.
- Participate in professional, public, and university service appropriate to the faculty rank.
Required Qualifications
- WI medical license by start date of position.
- ABIM or ABFM Board-certified or board eligible in geriatrics by start date of position.
- Completion of a US internal medicine or family medicine residency and fellowship trained in geriatrics by the start date of the position.

Compensation
Negotiable, 12 months
