Geotechnical Skilled Laborer

We are currently looking for Geotechnical Skilled Laborers to join our Geotechnical Group across VA and other locations throughout the Mid Atlantic. Work is performed outdoors year round, with exposure to wet, muddy, cold, hot, and humid weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Carry, load, or unload materials
• Dig with picks, shovels, air hammers, jack hammers, or other construction-related equipment
• Arrive on-time to project sites and participate in job discussions and daily safety meetings
• Operate concrete pumps safely
• Work with and maintain construction-related equipment (grout machines, drilling machines, compressors)
• Handle hoses for various machines on the job site
• Ensure safety of self and others; wear proper job-site PPE as directed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• 1+ years of concrete construction and/or Heavy Civil experience
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Willingness to travel throughout VA, MD, and the Mid Atlantic region
• Ability to communicate and work well with others
• Experience in earthwork, auger cast, drilling, concrete, concrete pumps, welding, or small tool operation is preferred

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Construction experience, preferably in concrete or ground stabilization, and small equipment operation

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from ground level to waist level and 30 pounds above shoulder level throughout the work shift
• Continuous standing and walking required
• Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights up to 150 feet
• Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, and crawl
• Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands
• Must have the ability to reach, lift, and perform work above shoulder height
• Must be able to work on uneven surfaces and in confined spaces
• Acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and hearing required
• Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot, and humid weather conditions

Pay

$20.00/hr - $25.00/hr (based on experience)
