Job Title: Geotechnical Project ManagerJob Description This role offers an opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to provide technical leadership and hands-on execution across a wide range of infrastructure and development projects. You will guide geotechnical investigations and design, drive safety and quality standards, and influence project outcomes from concept through completion while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic consulting environment. Responsibilities Lead safety efforts across project teams by modeling safe work practices, enforcing safety standards, and promoting thorough pre-task planning for all field and office activities.Drive quality across all deliverables by monitoring engineering standards, enforcing best practices, and ensuring that all work meets applicable codes and project requirements.Perform and oversee geotechnical investigations, including subsurface exploration, soil and material testing, and data collection to support design and construction decisions.Lead geotechnical analyses and design for foundations, slopes, and earth structures, including soil mechanics, foundation design, and slope stability evaluations.Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering work across multiple projects with varying complexity, ensuring tasks, timelines, and deliverables are clearly defined and met.Lead or support the conceptual design and investigative approach for key project phases, helping shape technical strategies and design solutions early in the project lifecycle.Provide technical review and approval of engineering reports, calculations, and client deliverables to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with project objectives.Manage project execution from a technical standpoint, providing project management and technical leadership to engineering teams throughout design and implementation.Oversee and interpret concrete testing, soil testing, and other material testing programs to validate design assumptions and support construction quality control.Support construction activities through geotechnical analysis, inspection, and field observations, providing recommendations and resolving technical issues as they arise.Collaborate closely with civil, structural, and environmental professionals to integrate geotechnical considerations into broader project designs.Mentor and develop junior engineers by providing guidance, technical oversight, and feedback on project tasks and professional growth. Essential Skills Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a geotechnical focus preferred or a closely related discipline.Strong ability to lead engineering design for moderate to complex geotechnical projects, including foundations, slopes, and earth structures.Demonstrated experience coordinating engineering tasks, schedules, and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects.Solid understanding of subsurface investigation methods and geotechnical design approaches, including soil mechanics and foundation design.Proven ability to review, critique, and approve technical reports, calculations, and engineering documentation.Experience in geotechnical engineering design and analysis, including slope stability and earth structure performance.Project management capability with a track record of providing technical leadership on engineering projects.Safety leadership mindset with the ability to enforce and model safety standards across field and office operations.Strong technical report writing and review skills, with ownership of client-facing deliverables.Hands-on experience with concrete testing, soil testing, and material testing related to geotechnical and construction projects.Ability to perform geotechnical analysis and inspection in support of construction activities. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with transportation-related projects, including work with Departments of Transportation, is a strong plus.Background in construction management or close collaboration with construction teams is beneficial.Familiarity with concrete standards and practices, including ACI-related concepts, is advantageous.Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to their technical development and career growth.Comfort working in a fast-paced consulting environment with multiple concurrent projects and changing priorities.Interest in growing into lead engineer or expanded project management responsibilities over time. Work Environment This position operates in a hybrid work environment that combines office, field, and project site settings. Office work focuses on analysis, design, reporting, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural, and environmental professionals. Field and site visits may involve subsurface investigations, drilling oversight, material testing, and construction support activities. The consulting environment is fast-paced and project-driven, with multiple assignments running simultaneously and frequent collaboration across disciplines. Work may include time at infrastructure and transportation-related project sites, where adherence to safety protocols and use of appropriate field gear is expected. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oklahoma City, OK. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $100000.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
