Geotechnical Project Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage geotechnical, forensic, and construction projects
  • Interact directly with clients and manage project budgets
  • Cook up and participate in field activities, including:
    • Logging borings, test pits, trenches, and cores
    • Evaluating geologic and seismic hazards
    • Performing forensic evaluations of distressed structures and failed slopes
  • Perform engineering analyses, including:
    • Foundation design and evaluation
    • Slope stability analysis
    • Settlement analysis
  • Prepare geotechnical engineering proposals and technical reports
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to staff engineers, geologists, and field technicians
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager

Qualifications

  • Education: B.S. in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering required
  • M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
  • Skills & Experience: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), Minimum 5+ years of experience in geotechnical consulting, Familiarity with local engineering practices and California-based projects required, Detail-oriented, team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills

Additional Information

Expected salary range: $100,000-120,000 depending on qualifications
