Geotechnical Principal Engineer

Primary responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and support to Geotechnical staff within a branch and region.
  • Host or attend project meetings with clients and/or ECS staff to offer technical solutions as needed.
  • Mentor Associate Principals.
  • Participate in the review committee for candidates seeking Associate Principal designation (Geotechnical).

Office and Regional Level Duties

  • Oversee projects.
  • Perform technical report reviews.
  • Prepare and review proposals.
  • Manage the department and P&L.
  • Contribute to business development and assist other staff in marketing services.
  • Aid in making staffing decisions for the department.
  • Lead and coach junior staff members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or a similar field is required.
  • At least 12 years of related experience.
  • Designation as a senior reviewer at your current or previous firm is required.
  • A Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) license is required in each state where you work.
  • If driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver’s license is required.
