About the role
Wood Rodgers, a leading engineering consulting firm, is hiring a lab technician to join our Geotechnical Department. This is a staffed, hourly, non-exempt position for someone who can foster a positive working environment and enhance employee relations. Responsibilities
- Perform basic geotechnical laboratory testing, including soil, concrete, and aggregate testing
- Record and report lab results
- Assist with laboratory accreditation
- Calibrate laboratory equipment
- Maintain a clean work environment and organize lab tools and equipment
- Coordinate activities with the lab supervisor and project manager
- Field support including sample pickup and delivery, concrete sampling and testing, concrete and asphalt coring, etc.
- Vehicle maintenance
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in geotechnical or environmental lab work preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Pay
$21.00 - $26.50 / hour
The range does not reflect geographic variations and may fluctuate above or below the stated amount. Offers will be based on several factors, including experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, training, and location.
