Geotechnical Laboratory /Field Technician

About the role

The Geotechnical Field/Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing a variety of laboratory testing, site assessment, and engineering duties under general supervision. Responsibilities

• Assist in classifying soil samples and various geotechnical laboratory testing
• Absorb and prepare work orders for drilling operations
• Assist the drilling team with staking and field logging
• Assist in field geophysical testing
• Operate testing equipment and conduct tests (e.g., soil, concrete, or other)
• Provide assessments of data through reporting
• Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results

Qualifications

• No experience is required
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
• Ability to lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make discriminations in sound
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
• Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year Geotechnical / Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field / Lab technician experience
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• ACI Certification
