About the Role
SOCOTEC is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Field and Lab Assistant Summer Intern in Austin, TX. The intern will work alongside field and laboratory technicians performing construction materials field and lab testing, construction observation, and will assist geotechnical engineers and project managers with additional field‑operation tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist field and laboratory technicians with construction materials testing and observation.
- Support geotechnical engineers and project managers on various aspects of field operations.
Qualifications
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering, Geology, or Construction‑related associate, bachelor’s, or graduate program.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities, including lifting up to 50 pounds of equipment on occasion.
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
