Geotechnical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support all aspects of geotechnical engineering related to mine site rock storage facilities and pit stability.

Responsibilities

• Developing, overseeing, and executing geotechnical field programs, including drilling, instrumentation installation, and site investigations.
• Supporting project phases such as scoping, prefeasibility, and feasibility studies by integrating rock slope stability, storage management, and hydrology considerations.
• Assessing and communicating geotechnical risks, interpreting data to inform design, mine planning, and water management strategies.
• Managing project budgets and consulting contracts, ensuring quality and performance.
• Supporting continual improvement in safety, sustainability, and industry standards.

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering or related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in mining or consulting industries.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure.
• Experience in rock mechanics, slope stability, geotechnical monitoring, and tailings design is advantageous.
• Proficiency in stability analysis software, risk-based decision making, and strong communication skills.

This role involves working in both office and active site environments, requiring physical mobility, safety awareness, and adaptability to varying conditions.
