Geospatial SME with Security Clearance

About the Role

Serve as a Geospatial Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the JC3-Functional Defeat (FD) Branch, responsible for the development of virtual and physics-based 3D models to support mission planning and minimizing collateral damage effects. You will review multiple intelligence sources to recreate surface and sub-surface structures in a virtual environment, which will be used as part of larger 3D representations or to calculate and predict blast effects.

Responsibilities

• Recreate real-world structures in a high-fidelity virtual environment to support mission planning and collateral effects assessments.
• Utilize imagery analysis skills to determine the construction and design of surface and sub-surface structures.
• Transform vector and raster data into desired formats using GIS skills, combine them into larger datasets, and present them in a 3D environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop plans and products.
• Provide technical guidance and expertise to junior team members and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Pre-deployable physical condition required.
• 10% time spent on Temporary Duty (TDY).
• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally for mission requirements.
• Required Short Notice Recall.

Qualifications

Proficiency in the following tools and skills is desired:

• Physics Modeling Skills (IMEA/UTAS): Create accurate building models from multiple intelligence sources, apply weaponeering solutions, and explain predictive modeling results to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Visual Modeling Skills (SketchUp): Create detailed 3D models of buildings, structures, and site layouts using Trimble SketchUp; interpret architectural drawings, engineering plans, and imagery for precise representations.
• Imagery Analysis Skills (SocetGXP): Review historical imagery to identify building designs and layouts; mensurate objects on imagery for accurate 3D recreation.
• GIS Skills (ArcGIS Pro and TerraExplorer): Familiarity with vector and raster formats; ability to convert data to desired formats and map projections; import and symbolize GIS data and 3D content into TerraExplorer; build and maintain interactive fly-through presentations.
