Geoscience Intern

About the role

EOG Resources, Inc. offers internship opportunities to university students pursuing a bachelor, master, or doctorate degree in a geoscience program. Interns will support subsurface evaluation efforts related to exploration and development projects, and obtain hands-on experience in geologic and seismic interpretation, along with subsurface mapping and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Support subsurface evaluation efforts related to exploration and development projects
• Obtain hands-on experience in geologic and seismic interpretation
• Obtain hands-on experience in subsurface mapping and analysis
• Demonstrate strong computer skills and the ability to generate geologic maps
• Show an aptitude to objectively analyze the data and then progress into the realms of interpretation, projection, and actionable recommendations

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor, master, or doctorate degree in a geoscience program
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across disciplines
• Familiar with Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email applications
• Possess deductive reasoning skills and be able to analyze and synthesize information for problem solving
• Excellent organizational and planning skills, and demonstrate effective project coordination, facilitation, and implementation

Qualifications

• Strong academic backgrounds in stratigraphy, sedimentology, and structural geology
• Log analysis and geophysical interpretation skills
