We deliver secure, high-quality language access in more than 80 spoken and signed languages for USCIS and other federal agencies. We are seeking Georgian Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Georgian, the official language of Georgia (Caucasus region), is a rare language of strategic importance often required in asylum and immigration cases.
Responsibilities
- Provide real-time Georgian ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.
- Interpret with accuracy, impartiality, and professionalism in immigration, legal, and administrative contexts.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with USCIS/DHS interpreter standards.
- Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge interpretation requests.
- Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance reviews.
Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in Georgian and English.
- 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, asylum, legal, medical, or government preferred).
- Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness.
- Excellent telephone communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance.
