Primary Location: BARUCH COLLEGE Bargaining Unit No The STEP Academy at Baruch College (a STEM academic enrichment and college preparation program) has several open instructor positions for the fall semester. The Fall 2026 Program runs for 10 Saturdays: October 3 through December 12, excluding November 28. Please note: These courses are non-credit, introductory and culminating workshop series. Participants do not receive an official grade. Interview request for eligible candidates will start in early September. Additional Information: This introductory, first semester course is designed for students who already passed Algebra 1 and/or will take a geometry course at their schools this fall. Summary Of Responsibilities Plan, teach and prepare materials for 15-18 studentsEvaluate student and group performanceProvide staff with measurable results in student learning through assessmentsMonitor and maintain student attendance recordsReassess curriculum based on student needs, interest, and understanding of materialOther duties as assigned Qualifications Required: Availability for each program day from 9am – 10:25amStrong background in geometryExperience in a teaching capacity in the subject areaPrior experience with designing and implementing a geometry workshop series/curriculumHave a strong classroom management style Preferred Degree in a STEM or educationPrior tutoring or teaching experience with high schoolAbility to engage students with creative lessons and innovative teaching stylePossess good interpersonal skills with adolescents and a strong understanding of their maturity levelsEnthusiasm for the subject with flexibility in adjusting curriculum to reflect students' abilities Pay Range $45 hourly RFCUNY Benefits RFCUNY Employee Benefits and Accruals Equal Employment Opportunity Statement The Research Foundation of the City University of New York is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action/Americans with Disabilities Act/E-Verify Employer.
