AnalystFull-time
Key Responsibilities
- Build/maintain maps of target formations in and around operated units.
- Integrate all operated and non-operated data into subsurface interpretation such as geosteering interpretations.
- Have a good understanding of all uphole zones as potential geohazards to operations or upside potential.
- Map zones as needed.
- Identify optimal landing zones and lateral targets for horizontal wells by studying offset wells.
- Intimate knowledge of all horizontal wells on and around operated units is critical.
- Collaborate with geophysics, drilling, completions, and reservoir engineers (asset management team) to design and position horizontal wells within the asset.
- Work closely with Operations Geologist to build pre-drill SOP’s and well plans to use when executing geosteering in the lateral.
- Monitor geosteering efforts during drilling to ensure pre-drill plan is being executed effectively.
- Conduct post-drill evaluations and ensure all geologic data from operations is stored appropriately and integrated into interpretations effectively.
- This also includes compiling offset well data as needed, working with the Land department to find ways to obtain.
- Utilize petrophysical and rock mechanical properties information to support completion design and frac planning.
- Work closely with data science and engineering teams to integrate production analytics and machine learning insights into geologic interpretation.
- Work with engineering teams to assess well spacing and sequencing strategies for full-field development.
- Identify refrac, re-entry, and infill drilling opportunities based on reservoir performance.
- Support annual reserves booking processes.
- Present geologic interpretations, risk assessments, and drilling recommendations to management and Investment Committee.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and asset reviews.
- Maintain and manage geological databases, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with finance/investment team members.
