Geologist/Environmental Engineer/Scientist

About the Role

We are seeking an Environmental Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist to join our Mineola, NY office. LiRo-Hill provides construction management, engineering, environmental, architectural, and program management solutions, ranked among the nation's top A/E firms by Engineering News-Record. LiRo-Hill is a 1,100-person firm with offices in NYC, Long Island, Buffalo, Rochester, Boston, and Metro Park, NJ. Recently, Global Infrastructure Solutions Inc. (GISI), the parent company of The LiRo Group and Hill International, Inc., consolidated experienced staff in the Northeast to create a larger, more efficient team.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of ASTM-compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
• Oversight of drilling/excavating contractors, including soil, groundwater, and soil vapor sample collection
• Soil logging and geologic formation documentation
• Oversight of construction activities, including excavations, monitoring well installations, UST investigations/closures, etc.
• Implementation of Construction Activity Management Plans (CAMP) and work zone monitoring
• Field activity report writing
• Assisting project Project Managers with preparation of various summary reports and documents

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field
• 2-5 years’ experience (entry-level candidates will also be considered)
• Self-starter with strong analytical and writing skills
• Project scheduling experience with budget management skills
• Asbestos experience or professional license is a plus
• Field experience
• Strong communication skills

Pay

Compensation range: $55,000 – $80,000. The range provided reflects the salary the firm in good faith believes it is willing to pay for this position at the time of posting. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
