Geologist

About the role

Field oversight for monitoring well installation programs, foundation investigations, contamination assessments, geologic site characterizations, or related projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform soil and rock logging
• Prepare professional logs for soil, rock, and monitoring well construction data
• Install water monitoring and water quality equipment and manage the data output
• Manage drilling and other related contractors per company guidelines and procedures
• Interface with various customers, assist Geologist and Land Group peers to facilitate field investigations
• 100% travel

Qualifications

• 5-10 years experience in related field
• Accredited Bachelor's Degree in Geology preferred; Geological Engineering accepted

Skills

• Experience in executing field investigations utilizing various drilling methods and resources
• Experience with soil and rock logging, monitoring well construction, groundwater monitoring, and field data reporting
• Knowledge of environmental sampling and testing methods
• General knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
• Working knowledge of gINT BoreDM Boring Log Program
• Flexible computer skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to work with limited supervision
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Safety first mindset
• Exhibit customer focus and conflict resolutions skills

Pay

$40.00 - $55.00/hr

Schedule

Typical work week is 4, 10 hour days (Monday - Thursday) with some 10 day shifts. Extensive travel throughout the southeastern United States mainly Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi.
