Geography Instructor (TEMPORARY)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Providing instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course outlines and class schedules.
• Creating and maintaining an environment which emphasizes learning, encourages free discussion of ideas and critical thinking.
• Evaluating progress of students concerning educational matters and grading student work.
• Maintaining appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
• Maintaining current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
• Fulfilling professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member.
• Maintaining accurate academic records.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification-Education/Experience

• Master's in geography OR Bachelor's in geography AND Master's in geology, history, meteorology or oceanography OR the equivalent.
• The equivalent of a Master's in one of the disciplines included in the interdisciplinary area and upper division or graduate course work in at least one other constituent discipline.
• If the title(s) of your degree major(s) listed on your unofficial transcripts or other documents from the degree-granting institutions are not an EXACT MATCH to the degrees listed below, you MUST submit an equivalency form.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience of curriculum design in an adult learning environment.
• Experience with Canvas or similar Learning Management System.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
