Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course outlines and class schedules.
- Creating and maintaining an environment which emphasizes learning, encourages free discussion of ideas and critical thinking.
- Evaluating progress of students concerning educational matters and grading student work.
- Maintaining appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
- Maintaining current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
- Fulfilling professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member.
- Maintaining accurate academic records.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification-Education/Experience
- Master's in geography OR Bachelor's in geography AND Master's in geology, history, meteorology or oceanography OR the equivalent.
- The equivalent of a Master's in one of the disciplines included in the interdisciplinary area and upper division or graduate course work in at least one other constituent discipline.
- If the title(s) of your degree major(s) listed on your unofficial transcripts or other documents from the degree-granting institutions are not an EXACT MATCH to the degrees listed below, you MUST submit an equivalency form.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience of curriculum design in an adult learning environment.
- Experience with Canvas or similar Learning Management System.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
