Responsibilities
- Assemble major mechanical components including engines, transmissions, pumps, radiators, brackets, and structural elements
- Follow detailed build books, schematics, blueprints, and order-of-operation instructions from start to finish (A to Z)
- Perform mechanical assembly work using hand tools, impacts, pneumatic tools, and other shop equipment
- Work on frack equipment and multiple genset builds running in parallel
- Perform low- and high-voltage electrical work, including cable pulling, connections, and terminations
- Read electrical prints and diagnose electrical issues
- Use voltmeters, meggers, and high-pot test equipment
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes (30-ton and 40-ton units), and fifth-wheel trucks
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized stall/build area
- Wear and maintain proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times, ensuring compliance with company safety standards
- Collaborate with team members and provide technical guidance when needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on mechanical, electrical, or hybrid experience in the oilfield services industry, including the assembly of oilfield equipment, engines, and other heavy mechanical or industrial systems
- Must own and bring basic hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.)
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to assemble complex heavy equipment
- Strong understanding of engines, transmissions, hydraulic components, pumps, and related systems
- Knowledge of high-voltage and low-voltage systems
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, diagnostic instruments, and calibration equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the workday
- Ability to stand for extended periods; frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and occasional work under equipment
- Clear vision, hearing, and communication ability for safe assembly work
- Ability to work in an indoors large, well-ventilated shop and warehouse environment with exposure to industrial smells, fumes, and other typical manufacturing odors
