Genetic Counselor

Job Summary

Provide professional genetic counseling services in specialized areas such as prenatal diagnosis, teratogens, biochemical genetics, molecular genetics, and medical genetics, as part of prenatal consultations, dysmorphology evaluations, inpatient consultations, and specified subspecialty clinics. Participate in clinical care, research, and teaching. Participate in all other activities of the Vermont Regional Genetics Center.

Responsibilities

• Provide genetic counseling services in specialized areas including prenatal diagnosis, teratogens, biochemical genetics, molecular genetics, and medical genetics.
• Participate in prenatal consultations, dysmorphology evaluations, inpatient consultations, and specified subspecialty clinics.
• Contribute to clinical care, research, and teaching activities at the Vermont Regional Genetics Center.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in genetic counseling from an ABGC-accredited program.
• Board Eligible or Board Certified by the ABGC.
• 1-3 years previous genetic counselor experience preferred.
• New graduates may be considered with relevant clinical experience.
