Responsibilities
- Perform timely repairs and maintenance on diesel generators and associated equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engines, electrical systems, generators, and other components
- Test and operate vehicles and equipment to ensure all systems function properly
- Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections to maintain safety and reliability
- Ensure equipment meets safety and compliance standards
- Accurately document repairs and complete work orders
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including your tools and equipment
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet and equipment operations
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience repairing diesel equipment, generators, and associated components
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills on diesel engines, generators, and related equipment
- Experience testing and operating vehicles and equipment to verify proper function
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position
- Must be eligible to pass standard pre-employment screenings, including drug screen and DOT physical (if required)
Working Conditions
This role involves working in a mobile, outside and/or shop environment with exposure to dust, diesel fumes, noise, and mechanical materials such as oils and greases. Technicians must be able to perform essential job functions that include:
- Frequent movement such as standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods
- Lifting heavy objects and accessing tight or confined spaces
- Regular use of hands to grasp, reach, handle, and operate tools and equipment
- Working at heights using ladders or elevated platforms
- Safely performing duties in various weather conditions
- Sufficient vision and hearing to safely navigate the workspace
