Generator Technician

F.H. Furr, a provider of top-quality home comfort solutions across Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and the Washington, D.C. region since 1981, is seeking a Generator Technician to install, maintain, diagnose, and repair residential standby generator systems.

About the role

The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a passion for helping homeowners maintain reliable backup power. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, educating customers, and recommending solutions that enhance system performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Install residential standby generator systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications, local codes, and company standards
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, testing, and repairs on residential generator systems
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, fuel system, and operational issues
• Conduct startup, commissioning, and performance testing of newly installed equipment
• Educate homeowners on generator operation, maintenance requirements, and available service options

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Generator Technician, Generator Installer, Electrical Technician, or related field service professional
• Proven expertise in installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing residential standby generators
• Strong commitment to delivering an outstanding homeowner experience
• Effective communication skills and ability to explain technical information clearly and professionally to homeowners
• Valid Driver’s License (must be at least 21 years old per company policy)

Pay

$75,000 – $150,000 per year
