Responsibilities

  • Manage and perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs, with a focus on residential systems and generator services.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues, install and service generator systems, and ensure all work adheres to safety standards and codes.
  • Interact with customers to diagnose problems, recommend solutions, and provide high-quality service.
  • Understand and work with electricity, electrical systems, motor control systems, and process control instrumentation.
  • Conduct maintenance, service, and repairs across a range of areas including plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, and electrical systems.
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring and equipment to ensure proper function and safety.
  • Support the repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, including hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Inspect electrical systems and components to identify hazards or defects and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions, particularly in lighting circuits.

Requirements

  • Generac certification
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • A high school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience with generator systems
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques
  • Physical capability to perform the job duties and availability for overtime, including weekends, public holidays, and evenings
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Well-organized with strong task prioritization skills

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work
  • Ability to drive
  • Working in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, attics, crawlspaces
  • Ability to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone
  • Use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms
  • Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch
  • Regular exposure to extreme temperatures both indoors and outdoors, such as heat or cold, and adverse weather conditions such as wind, rain, ice or snow
